My new ride, sporting 28″ rims!
May 22nd, 2006
For general fitness, but also in gearing up for the MS150, I have purchased a new bike that I’m really excited about! It’s got a cool aluminum frame, carbon fiber fork, and it’s rollin on 28″ rims!
I’m totally thrilled to have it b/c it’s just a blast to ride. It’s a Lemond Big Sky, which is the perfect bike for the type of cycling I’m doing.
I’ve actually had it for a couple of months. In that time I’ve put a little over 300 miles on it! Plus, just a few days ago, I was looking for a bike for a friend and guess what, i came across another Lemond Big Sky in my wife Kristy’s prefect size. The bike was just barely used and closeby, so the next morning I picked it up. It’s pretty awesome having matching bikes!
Right now I’m committed to the MS150, but I’m also doing lots of training rides between now and then to prepare my fitness.
As part of my training, I’ll be be doing the Ride to Weston June 18. That 70 mile ride will be the start of my long distance preparations. You can also find me on the local Johnson County bike trails a few times a week and also regularly attending the KC Trek store’s Monday night recovery ride.
