Firefox 2.0 Released!

October 25th, 2006

As always, Mozilla is one step ahead of Microsoft.  IE7 may be out, but Firefox 2.0 is the way to go! New Firefox 2.0 has significant enhancements to the user experience, plus new security features, and more personalization options than ever!

I downloaded Firefox in about 12 seconds (no kidding!), installed it in about 50 seconds (nice!), and it took me about 17 seconds to decide that it was my choice over IE7 (it only took 17 seconds b/c for the first 10 seconds I was upgrading from del.icio.us 1.1 to 1.2).

So, do yourself a favor and go to www.getfirefox.com and download Firefox. Import your bookmarks and set Firefox as your default browser.  You’ll be glad you did!

PS - Purely by coincidence I also switched from Outlook Express to Mozilla’s Thunderbird this week.  I like everything about it except one feature, it is unclear whether you’re sending in plain text or html until you send (which is probably my user error).   It’s more work to setup (all your mail rules and filters have to be setup again by hand, ouch!), but I’m going to continue the steps to fully divorce myself from Microsoft.
